DWB unappreciation…..
Last week I was riding down the street on my lunch break at work minding my own business until I pass squalie on my way to run an errand. I look in my rear view and I see him make a u turn and weave and an out of traffic to get behind me.
So I pull over and politely ask him why am I being stopped. He doesnt respond and asks me for my license, registration and insurance card.
I’m sure me being pulled over had a lot to do with me being a young black male, in a baseball cap cruising down the street in the middle of the day in a BMW.
The old fart took at least 25 minutes to come tell me why I was pulled over and in the process called for backup!! So i’m sitting in this parking lot with 2 cop cars flashing berries behind me. The scene doesnt look good at all!
I’ll admit I wasnt totally innocent. I had insurance card that expired last week and I havent put the new one in my car yet. So pulling me over and writing me a ticket helped w/ his quota for the day…
But there’s no way he could looked at me driving and tell I had an expired insurance CARD! He even called to verify my insurance and now I have to go to court to show them an updated insurance card next week.
What’s sad is…this is probably my 7th time being pulled over for DWB in a nice car.
My worst experience was a few yrs back when I was driving on I-80 heading to Iowa State Univ. to drop off a desktop PC for my brother. I guess the cop saw some big boxes in the back seat and assumed I had a car full of…..something.
The cop goes through the snow in the middle of the dividing lane and drives about 80mph to catch up with me. I eventually got a ticket for…..get this…SNOW ON MY LICENSE PLATES.. my back licences plates!
Of all the times I’ve been pulled over I’ve never got a ticket for speeding or improper lane change etc..I’ve always got bogus tickets or warnings for offenses I did not even do.
Even though I hate being pulled over for no reason, I’m thankful the cops didnt Sean Bell me.
