My 2 cents…..

ATLANTA – Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce and Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson were fined $25,000 each by the NBA on Monday for making “menacing gestures” in playoff games, another attempt by the league to crack down on bad behavior.

Pierce was sanctioned for flashing a hand gesture toward Atlanta’s Al Horford and attempting to stare him down in the fourth quarter of the Celtics’ 102-93 loss to the Hawks on Saturday. Pierce had to be pulled back to the Boston bench by his teammates.

After Horford hit a clinching basket with 22 seconds left in Atlanta’s Game 3 victory, the rookie began jawing with Pierce before heading for the Hawks bench. Pierce followed Horford as far as midcourt, glaring in his direction before holding up his right hand, forming an “O” with his thumb and index finger and extending the other three fingers.

Pierce’s gesture resembled a gang sign, though Boston general manager Danny Ainge denied that it had anything to with such an illicit activity. He said the player holds up three fingers to represent “blood, sweat and tears.”

“Watch what Paul does when he’s introduced. He’s done it for every game,” Ainge said. “That’s not anything related to” gangs.

Ok, we all know that Pierce’s hand gesture did not mean “blood sweat and tears.” And to my knowledge, Paul is not a Kappa  either….I’m just curious how David Stern can fine him 25k while there’s a picture of him throwing up the same “menacing gesture?”

Jay-Z disses DeShawn Stevenson….

Jay-Z is washed up. Despite just getting married and touring across the country w/ Mary J. Blige, Jigga man has found time to get invovled in a petty beef between two basketball players. What’s even crazier is he goes at Deshawn Stevenson despite the fact that Stevenson has never even mentioned Jay-Z’s name in his on going beef w/ LeBron James.

Jigga man needs to stay out of young folks business

A few weeks back Stevenson called LeBron overrated after a Cavs and Wizards game. When asked about the comment, James says talking about Stevenson “would be like Jay-Z saying something bad about Soulja Boy.”

Ironically the two rivals matched up in the 1st round of the NBA playoffs, and Stevenson invited Soulja Boy to attend the Wizards first home game of the series.

After Wizards blew out the Cavs on Friday night w/ Soulja Boy watching from courtside, Jay-Z decides to get involved and record a diss track over Too $horts “Blow the whistle” to be played at a DC night club.

Why diss Stevenson? It’s not like Deshawn offered to play Jay-Z in a one on one game of basketball. So why does Jay diss a basketball player instead of responding to Joe Budden, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, LL Cool J or any other rapper who’s had beef w/ him lately? I understand he came in to defend his boy LeBron, but isnt he too old to be getting involved in something like this?

Here’s the link to the diss record

Give it up Jay-Z and pick on dudes in your own profession.
